Over 4o years of practice as a Registered Nurse was eye-opening, fascinating, adventuresome, supportive, informative, and most definitely growth-producing. Career experiences produced the stories for my first book. Of particular importance to me is my need to be mindful of not making assumptions. What’s seen is not always what’s the deal! Check out my National Speakers Association of Ohio video on the Home Page, for an example!

My nursing experiences include General Med/Surg, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Intensive Care Units, and Hemodialysis, all the way to Homecare Supervision, Public School nursing, and weeklong summertime overnight stays at Camp Ho Mita Koda for Type 1 insulin dependent diabetic children. Oh, and not to forget, the wonderful opportunity to dialyze several passengers on a cruise ship so they could enjoy a 7-night cruise to Alaska!
On a non-clinical level, I’ve worked as a trainer for Magellan Health, speaking on topics such as Stress Management and Change Management. My work with Magellan also includes being a CISM (Critical Incident Stress Manager) for tragic incidents affecting workplace employees. Rounding out my healing and healthcare experiences, I am a Reiki Master, and have facilitated retreats having to do with emotional health and balance.
